Whether you are learning to drive having a regular one hour a week, two or more hours a week or enrolled on an intensive course - All practical driving lessons are structured around the Official DSA syllabus of Learning to Drive covering the following modules...
Handouts are issued to aid and support learning and understanding of each discipline where required.
Each lesson is assessed and progress is recorded so that each pupil knows how well they are doing.
Mock Tests
Where appropriate mock tests are given to determine a pupils readiness for the DSA approved test.Learning to drive requires a commitment from both the learner and the instructor. Lesson times and days will be agreed with the learner and reserved into Carls diary. It is important to notify Carl if you are unable to attend a lesson 48 hours in advance where possible, so that your ‘slot’ can be allocated to someone else for that day(s).
Ability
All learner drivers have differing abilities. Some pupils start learning to drive having had some experience already either with a family member or ‘off road’ experience in a farm/motor cross etc. Depending on an individuals ability will determine how quickly and proficiently you learn the skills and knowledge to enable you to pass your test and learn safe driving skills for life.
The DSA recommend that someone with no experience at all would require approximately 40 - 50 hours of tuition. Some with a little or more experience may only require 30+ and some 20+.
